Laboratory for Applied Software Engineering

Laboratory for Applied Software Engineering (ASE-Lab@FOI) aims through activities of scientific research, collaboration with industry, knowledge and technology transfer to narrow the gap between software engineering theory and their applications in practice.

Laboratory activities

In addition to software development, the discipline of Software Engineering in theoretical and practical manner includes the areas of applicative technologies and system infrastructure, and knowledge from this discipline is highly valuable on the labor market. Thus, although the focus of the research group will not be limited to the following areas, we would like to point out some topics that are from our particular research interest, namely:

  • Software Development Practices
  • Applied Software Engineering
  • Software Development Methodologies / Agile Software Development
  • DevOps and automation of development process
  • Frameworks Development
  • User Centered Design
  • User Experience Design Integration with Agile Software Development
  • DesignOps
  • Internet of Things and Networked Systems Development
  • Development and Application of UML Profiles for IoT
  • Development and Transfer of Mobile, Wearable and Smart Technologies
  • Software Architectures

MT-Lab – Students' Group

Special attention in the work of the Laboratory is placed in providing possibilities to students to collaborate with us in technology transfer and scientific activities. Thus, more than five years ago we established a Group for Development and Transfer of Mobile Technologies (MT-Lab), having more than 50 students collaborating with us on different projects. If you are a student and you want to join us in this group, contact us at mt-lab@foi.hr.
